The app shows the official EU harmonised notice on the legal guarantee of conformity on your store. Shoppers see it in their own language, in all 24 EU languages. You do not need to touch your theme code.
If you offer a durability guarantee, you can also show the EU GARAN label next to your product images. You can set the guarantee years for many products at once by collection, tag, vendor or product type.
The notice can also appear on your cart page, at checkout on Shopify Plus and in your order confirmation email.
From 27 September 2026, every store selling goods to consumers in the EU must display the harmonised notice on the legal guarantee of conformity. The rule is Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2025/1960.
The GARAN label is only for products that come with a free durability guarantee of more than two years. Most stores do not need it.
This app helps you display the information. You remain responsible for which products are covered and for the accuracy of the information.
Open the app from Apps in your Shopify admin. A guided setup opens. Each step takes about a minute.
Click “Show it on my store”. Your theme editor opens with the “EU Guarantee Notice” app embed already switched on. Click Save at the top right, then come back to the app.
A “Legal guarantee” link now appears at the bottom of every page. It opens the official EU notice in the shopper’s language.
Click “Add it to my cart page”. The theme editor opens with the “EU Guarantee on Cart” block added to your cart page. Click Save and come back. The app checks your live theme again and ticks the step.
This step is set to “No”, which is the right answer for most stores. You are then done.
If some products have a free guarantee of more than 2 years, choose “Yes”, enter your brand name and click “Save”. Click “Choose collections” or “Choose products”, pick the number of years and click “Apply to these products”. Then click “Add the label to my product page” and click Save in the theme editor.
Optional: order confirmation email. Below the steps, click “Show me how”. Click “Copy”, then “Open the email editor”, and follow the short steps in the app to paste the code into your “Order confirmation” email. Shopify does not let apps do this for you, so click “I have added it to my email” when you are done.
Charges are added to your Shopify bill. You can change or cancel your plan at any time in the Plan card in the app.
By default, as a “Legal guarantee” link at the bottom of every page. In the theme editor you can show it as a banner instead, change the link text, or show it only to shoppers in the EU. After step 2 it also appears on your cart page.
The notice is available in all 24 official EU languages and follows the shopper’s storefront language. If a language is missing, the “Fallback language” setting in the theme editor decides which one is shown. The app’s own page follows your Shopify admin language (English, German or Japanese).
On Shopify Plus, you can add the “EU Guarantee at Checkout” block in the checkout editor. On other plans, the cart page block covers this step.
For the notice, open your theme editor, go to App embeds, switch off “EU Guarantee Notice” and click Save. The cart block can be removed from the cart page in the theme editor in the same way.
For the GARAN label, choose “No” in step 3. The app offers to remove the label from the products it was saved on.
The notice and the labels stop showing on your store. The app never edits your theme files, so no code is left behind. The access token and settings we stored are deleted. If you pasted the code into your order confirmation email, remove it from the email template yourself.
The app uses a Shopify theme app extension, so it does not change your theme code. The notice is an app embed that you switch on in the theme editor. The cart block and the GARAN label are app blocks, which need an Online Store 2.0 theme. Shopify’s free themes are Online Store 2.0 themes. If something does not appear where you expect, email us with the name of your theme.
No. The app stores only your store domain, an access token from Shopify and the settings you enter. It does not use cookies or tracking on your storefront. Read the full Privacy Policy.
Open the Plan card in the app. Click “Upgrade” to start the 14-day free trial. On the paid plan, click “Switch to yearly” or “Switch to monthly” to change how you pay. Click “Cancel subscription” to go back to the Free plan.
